If you want a spring wreath that requires less maintenance and care, there are some superb artificial products that will last for ages, You can keep them for multiple seasons without any degradation of quality.

Alternatively, if you want that truly epic natural look and smell, we have a brilliant selection of spring wreaths featuring real flowers and plants. These do require more care, but the smells will waft through your home and the vibrant colours are fantastic.

How to Care for a Spring Wreath?

If your spring wreath has natural components like flowers and moss it needs to be kept out of direct sunlight as this can cause them to wilt and dry out.

If you notice that the decorations are looking dry you can soak them in cool water for around 20 minutes. We also recommend lightly spraying the wreath with water daily as this helps the stems and leaves keep their lustre for longer.

How to Hang a Wreath?

There are three common methods for hanging spring wreaths. Firstly, you can get dedicated hooks or hangers that slot over the top of your door. Simply open your door, place the hanger over the top and then hang your decoration from the hook at the end.

Secondly, you can buy magnetic clamps too which sit either side of your door. These magnets are incredibly strong and keep the wreath in place. You need two people for this job – one either side to place the magnets together. Lastly, you can use a stylish ribbon attached to a coat hanger on the rear side of your door – this will cause no damage to your door and is easy to setup.

Artificial vs Real

Real spring wreaths look amazing and if they have things like flowers and berries, they smell gorgeous. As they are made from natural items like ferns and leaves, they are much easier to recycle and dispose of. The drawback is that they do not last as long and can fade.

Artificial wreaths are built to last and they should not degrade over time. Additionally, they need far less maintenance and upkeep. You can even use them for multiple seasons providing that you store them carefully. The downside is that many feel they simply don’t have the same attractiveness, sheen, and wholesome feel.

What Size Wreath Should I Buy?

If you want to hang a spring wreath on your door, we advise measuring it first. In the UK the most common front door width is 30 inches.

You ideally want a wreath that measures 5-10 inches narrower than this to give you space either side and allow you to hang it symmetrically. Anything larger and it can start to look obtrusive and too much. The basic premise is that the wreath should give a few inches of space either side of the door.
